2 “ I have loved you,” says Yahweh. Yet you say, “ How have you loved us?” “Wasn’t Esau Jacob’s brother?” says Yahweh, “ Yet I loved Jacob;I have loved you, saith Jehovah. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith Jehovah: yet I loved Jacob;여호와께서 말씀하십니다. "내가 너희를 사랑하였다." 그런데 너희는 말한다. "주께서 우리를 어떻게 사랑하셨습니까?" 여호와께서 말씀하십니다. "에서는 야곱의 형이 아니냐? 그런데도 나는 야곱을 사랑하였고,

4 Whereas Edom says, “ We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places,” Yahweh of Armies says, “ They shall build, but I will throw down; and men will call them ‘ The Wicked Land,’ even the people against whom Yahweh shows wrath forever.”Whereas Edom saith, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places; thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shall call them The border of wickedness, and The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.에돔이 "우리가 무너졌으나 다시 돌아가 폐허가 된 곳들을 세우겠다"라고 말하지만, 만군의 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. "그들이 세울지라도 내가 헐어 버리리니, 사람들이 그들을 '악한 땅'이라, 여호와께서 영원히 진노하시는 백성이라 부를 것이다."
5 Your eyes will see, and you will say, “ Yahweh is great — even beyond the border of Israel!”And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, Jehovah be magnified beyond the border of Israel.너희 눈이 보게 될 것이며, 너희는 말하리라. "여호와는 위대하시다 — 이스라엘의 경계를 넘어서까지!"
6 “ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says Yahweh of Armies to you priests who despise my name. “ You say, ‘ How have we despised your name?’A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I am a father, where is mine honor? and if I am a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?"아들은 아버지를 공경하고, 종은 그 주인을 공경한다. 내가 아버지라면 나를 공경함이 어디 있느냐? 내가 주인이라면 내게 합당한 존경이 어디 있느냐? 내 이름을 멸시하는 너희 제사장들아." 만군의 여호와께서 너희에게 말씀하십니다. 그런데 너희는 말한다. "우리가 어떻게 주의 이름을 멸시하였습니까?"
7 You offer polluted bread on my altar. You say, ‘ How have we polluted you?’ In that you say, ‘ Yahweh’s table is contemptible.’Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar. And ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of Jehovah is contemptible."너희가 내 제단 위에 더러운 음식을 바치는도다." 그런데 너희는 말한다. "우리가 어떻게 주를 더럽혔습니까?" 너희가 "여호와의 상은 멸시할 만하다"라고 말함으로써이다.
8 When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn’t that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?” says Yahweh of Armies.And when ye offer the blind for sacrifice, it is no evil! and when ye offer the lame and sick, it is no evil! Present it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee? or will he accept thy person? saith Jehovah of hosts.너희가 눈먼 것을 제물로 바칠 때 그것이 악하지 않으냐? 너희가 다리 절고 병든 것을 바칠 때 그것이 악하지 않으냐? 그것을 너희 총독에게 바쳐 보아라! 그가 너를 기뻐하겠느냐? 그가 너를 받아 주겠느냐?" 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하십니다.
9 “ Now, please entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says Yahweh of Armies.And now, I pray you, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts."이제 하나님께 은혜를 구하여 그분께서 우리에게 은혜 베푸시기를 간구하여라. 너희가 이렇게 하였으니, 그분께서 너희 중 누구라도 받아 주시겠느냐?" 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하십니다.
10 “ Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you,” says Yahweh of Armies, “ neither will I accept an offering at your hand.Oh that there were one among you that would shut the doors, that ye might not kindle fire on mine altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand."너희 가운데 누가 성전 문을 닫아, 너희가 내 제단 위에 헛되이 불을 피우지 못하게 하면 좋으련만! 나는 너희를 기뻐하지 않으며, 너희 손에서 드리는 제물도 받지 않겠다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하십니다.
11 For from the rising of the sun even to its going down, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering; for my name is great among the nations,” says Yahweh of Armies.For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the Gentiles, saith Jehovah of hosts."해 뜨는 곳에서부터 해 지는 곳까지 내 이름이 이방 사람들 가운데 위대하며, 곳곳에서 내 이름에 분향과 정결한 제물이 드려질 것이다. 이는 내 이름이 이방 사람들 가운데 위대하기 때문이다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하십니다.
12 “ But you profane it when you say, ‘ Yahweh’s table is polluted, and its fruit, even its food, is contemptible.’But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of Jehovah is polluted, and the fruit thereof, even its food, is contemptible."그러나 너희는 그것을 더럽힌다. 너희가 '여호와의 상은 더럽혀졌고, 그 열매 곧 그 음식은 멸시할 만하다'라고 말함으로써이다.
13 You say also, ‘ Behold, what a weariness it is!’ And you have sniffed at it”, says Yahweh of Armies; “ and you have brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. Should I accept this at your hand?” says Yahweh.Ye say also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith Jehovah of hosts; and ye have brought that which was taken by violence, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye bring the offering: should I accept this at your hand? saith Jehovah.너희는 또 말한다. '보라, 이 얼마나 지겨운 일인가!' 그러면서 그것을 업신여기듯 코웃음 친다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하십니다. "너희가 강탈한 것과 다리 절고 병든 것을 가져와 제물로 바치니, 내가 너희 손에서 이것을 받겠느냐?" 여호와께서 말씀하십니다.
14 “ But the deceiver is cursed who has in his flock a male, and vows and sacrifices to the Lord a defective thing; for I am a great King,” says Yahweh of Armies, “ and my name is awesome among the nations.”But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the Gentiles."그러나 자기 양 떼에 수컷이 있어 서원하고도 흠 있는 것을 주께 바치는 속이는 자는 저주를 받으리라. 이는 내가 위대한 왕이며, 내 이름이 이방 사람들 가운데 두렵기 때문이다." 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하십니다.
