15. wine cup —Compare Jeremiah 13:12 ; Jeremiah 13:13 , as to this image, to express stupefying judgments; also Jeremiah 49:12 ; Jeremiah 51:7 . Jeremiah often embodies the imagery of Isaiah in his prophecies ( Lamentations 4:21 ; Isaiah 51:17-22 ; Revelation 16:19 ; Revelation 18:6 ).
