1 But know this: that in the last days, grievous times will come.But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.그러나 이것을 알아 두어라. 마지막 때에 고통스러운 시절이 닥칠 것이다.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,사람들은 자기를 사랑하고, 돈을 사랑하며, 자랑하고, 거만하며, 하나님을 모독하고, 부모에게 순종하지 않으며, 감사할 줄 모르고, 거룩하지 않을 것이다.
3 without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good,without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,사랑의 정이 없고, 용서할 줄 모르며, 남을 비방하고, 자제력이 없으며, 사납고, 선한 것을 사랑하지 않을 것이다.
4 traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;배신하고, 제멋대로이며, 우쭐대고, 하나님을 사랑하기보다 쾌락을 더 사랑할 것이다.
5 holding a form of godliness but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.겉으로는 경건한 모양을 갖추었으나 그 능력은 부인하는 자들이니, 너는 이런 사람들에게서 돌아서라.
6 For some of these are people who creep into houses and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,이런 자들 가운데 더러는 남의 집에 몰래 기어들어가, 죄에 짓눌리고 온갖 욕망에 이끌리는 어리석은 여자들을 사로잡는다.
7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.이런 여자들은 늘 배우기는 하나 결코 진리의 지식에 이르지 못한다.
8 Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith are rejected.And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.얀네와 얌브레가 모세를 대적한 것처럼, 이 사람들도 진리를 대적한다. 그들은 마음이 부패한 자들이요, 믿음에 관해서는 버림받은 자들이다.
9 But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be.But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be.그러나 그들은 더 나아가지 못할 것이다. 얀네와 얌브레의 어리석음이 드러났던 것처럼, 이들의 어리석음도 모든 사람에게 분명히 드러날 것이기 때문이다.
10 But you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,그러나 너는 나의 가르침과 행실과 목적과 믿음과 오래 참음과 사랑과 인내를 따랐고,
11 persecutions, and sufferings — those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all.persecutions, sufferings; what things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: and out of them all the Lord delivered me.안디옥과 이고니온과 루스드라에서 내게 닥친 박해와 고난도 함께 겪었다. 내가 그러한 박해들을 견뎌 냈으나, 주께서 그 모든 것에서 나를 건져 내셨다.
12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.그렇다. 그리스도 예수 안에서 경건하게 살고자 하는 사람은 누구나 박해를 받을 것이다.
13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.그러나 악한 사람들과 속이는 자들은 점점 더 악해져서, 남을 속이고 또 자기도 속을 것이다.
14 But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;그러나 너는 네가 배우고 확신한 것에 머물러 있어라. 너는 그것을 누구에게서 배웠는지 알고 있다.
15 From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.and that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.너는 어려서부터 거룩한 성경을 알았으니, 이 성경은 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음을 통해 너를 구원에 이르도록 지혜롭게 할 수 있다.
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness:모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로, 가르치고 책망하며 바로잡고 의로 교육하는 데 유익하다.
17 that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전하게 하며, 모든 선한 일을 위해 완전히 갖추게 하려는 것이다.
