wel´spring ( מקור , māḳōr ): Usually "spring" or "fountain" ( figuratively ), translated "wellspring" only in two passages: "Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it" ( Proverbs 16:22 ); "The wellspring of wisdom is as a flowing brook" (Proverbs 18:4 ).
