Shaharaim (ISBE)
DIC dictionary-entry · status:draft · license:PD
shā - ha - rā´im ( שׁחרים , shaḥărayim ; Codex Vaticanus Σααρήλ , Saarḗl ; Codex Alexandrinus Σααρήμ , Saarḗm ): A B enjamite name (1 Chronicles 8:8 ). The passage is corrupt beyond only the most tentative emendation. "Sharaim" has no connection with the foregoing text. One of the suggested restorations of 1 Chronicles 8:8 , 1 Chronicles 8:9 reads: "And Shaharaim begat in the field of Moab, after he had driven them (i.e. the Moabites) out, from Hodesh his wife, Jobab," etc. (Curtis, International Critical Commentary ).
