DIC dictionary-entry · status:draft · license:PD
sha - kı̄´a , shak´i - a ( שׂכיה , sākheyāh (so Baer, Ginsberg); some editions read שׂכיא , sākheyā' , or שׂכיא , sakheyā' ; also שׁכיה , shākheyāh , and שׁביה , shābheyāh . This last reading is favored by the Syrian and the Septuagint (Codex Vaticanus Σαβιά , Sabiá ; Codex Alexandrinus Σεβία , Sebiá , but Lucian, Σεχιά , Sechiá ); the forms in kh () כ instead of bh () ב have the support of the Vulgate, Sechia , "Yahweh has forgotten" (?)): A name in genealogy of Benjamin ( 1 Chronicles 8:10 ).
