san´a - sib (Fritzsche, Σανασίβ , Sanası́b , but Codex Vaticanus and Swete, Σαναβείς , Sanabeı́s ; Codex Alexandrinus Ἀνασείβ , Anaseı́b ): Found only in 1 Esdras 5:24, where the sons of Jeddu, the son of Jesus, are a priestly family returning "among the sons of Sanasib." The name is not found in the parallel Ezra 2:36; Nehemiah 7:39 , and is perhaps preserved in the Vulgate (Jerome's Latin Bible, 390-405 A.D.) "Eliasib."
