Masrekah (ISBE)

mas´rḗ - ka , mas - rē´ka ( משׂרקה , masrēḳāh ; Μασέκκα , Masékka ): A place mentioned in the list of ancient rulers of Edom ( Genesis 36:31 ), "before there reigned any king over the children of Israel." Masrekah was the royal city of Samlah, son of Hadad (Genesis 36:36; 1 Chronicles 1:47 ). The name may mean "place of choice vines," but there is nothing to show in what locality it must be sought.
