iz´har - ı̄ts ( יצהרי , yichārı̄ ): The descendants of Izhar, son of Kohath, and grandson of Levi ( Numbers 3:19 , Numbers 3:27 ). In David's reign some of these were "over the treasures of the house of Yahweh" (1 Chronicles 26:23 ), others "were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges" (ibid., Numbers 26:29 ).
