kon -sist ´ (συνίστημι , sunı́stēmi ): To stand together, exist, subsist (Colossians 1:17 , "in him all things consist," i.e. the continuance of the universe is dependent upon His support and administration). In Luke 12:15 , it translates the verb εἰμί , eimı́ , "to be," to express the thought that wealth is only an accident, not an essential to the highest ideal of life.
