1 In the seventh month, in the twenty-first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came by Haggai the prophet, saying,In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,일곱째 달 스물한째 날에, 여호와의 말씀이 선지자 학개를 통해 임하여 이르셨다.
2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,"이제 유다 총독인 스알디엘의 아들 스룹바벨과 대제사장인 여호사닥의 아들 여호수아와 남은 백성에게 말하여라.
3 ‘ Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Isn’t it in your eyes as nothing?Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes as nothing?'너희 가운데 이 성전의 옛 영광을 본 사람이 누가 남아 있느냐? 지금은 그것이 너희 눈에 어떻게 보이느냐? 너희 눈에는 그것이 아무것도 아닌 것처럼 보이지 않느냐?
4 Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says Yahweh. ‘ Be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ says Yahweh, ‘ and work, for I am with you,’ says Yahweh of Armies.Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith Jehovah; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith Jehovah, and work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts,그러나 이제 스룹바벨아, 힘을 내어라.' 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '대제사장인 여호사닥의 아들 여호수아야, 힘을 내어라. 이 땅의 모든 백성아, 힘을 내어라.' 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '그리고 일하여라. 내가 너희와 함께 있다.' 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
5 This is the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, and my Spirit lived among you. ‘Don’t be afraid.’according to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and my Spirit abode among you: fear ye not.'너희가 이집트에서 나올 때에 내가 너희와 맺은 언약의 말씀이 이것이며, 내 영이 너희 가운데 머물러 있다. 두려워하지 말아라.'
6 For this is what Yahweh of Armies says: ‘ Yet once more, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry land;For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;만군의 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하시기 때문이다. '조금 있으면 한 번 더, 내가 하늘과 땅과 바다와 마른 땅을 뒤흔들 것이다.
7 and I will shake all nations. The treasure of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says Yahweh of Armies.and I will shake all nations; and the precious things of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts.내가 모든 민족을 뒤흔들 것이니, 모든 민족의 보배로운 것들이 들어올 것이며, 내가 이 성전을 영광으로 가득 채울 것이다.' 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,’ says Yahweh of Armies.The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts.'은도 내 것이요, 금도 내 것이다.' 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
9 ‘ The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahweh of Armies; ‘ and in this place I will give peace,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts.'이 성전의 나중 영광이 이전 영광보다 더 클 것이다.' 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '그리고 이곳에서 내가 평화를 줄 것이다.' 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다."
10 In the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, Yahweh’s word came by Haggai the prophet, saying,In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,다리오 둘째 해 아홉째 달 스물넷째 날에, 여호와의 말씀이 선지자 학개를 통해 임하여 이르셨다.
11 “ Yahweh of Armies says: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,"만군의 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. 이제 제사장들에게 율법에 관하여 물어보아라.
12 ‘ If someone carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with his fold touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any food, will it become holy?’” The priests answered, “ No.”If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No.'만일 어떤 사람이 거룩한 고기를 옷자락에 싸서 들고 가다가 그 옷자락이 빵이나 국이나 포도주나 기름이나 어떤 음식에 닿으면, 그것이 거룩해지겠느냐?'" 제사장들이 대답하였다. "아닙니다."
13 Then Haggai said, “If one who is unclean by reason of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?” The priests answered, “ It will be unclean.”Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by reason of a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.그러자 학개가 말하였다. "만일 시체로 인해 부정하게 된 사람이 이것들 가운데 어느 것에 닿으면, 그것이 부정해지겠느냐?" 제사장들이 대답하였다. "부정해질 것입니다."
14 Then Haggai answered, “‘ So is this people, and so is this nation before me,’ says Yahweh; ‘ and so is every work of their hands. That which they offer there is unclean.Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith Jehovah; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.그러자 학개가 대답하여 말하였다. "'내 앞에서 이 백성도 그러하고 이 민족도 그러하며, 그들의 손으로 하는 모든 일도 그러하다.' 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '그들이 거기서 바치는 것도 부정하다.
15 Now, please consider from this day and backward, before a stone was laid on a stone in Yahweh’s temple.And now, I pray you, consider from this day and backward, before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of Jehovah.이제 이 날부터 그 이전을 돌이켜 생각해 보아라. 여호와의 성전에 돌 위에 돌이 놓이기 전을 생각해 보아라.
16 Through all that time, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten. When one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty, there were only twenty.Through all that time, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten; when one came to the winevat to draw out fifty vessels, there were but twenty.그 모든 기간에, 사람이 스무 단 더미를 기대하고 갔을 때 겨우 열 단뿐이었다. 사람이 포도주 통에서 쉰 통을 길으려고 갔을 때 겨우 스무 통뿐이었다.
17 I struck you with blight, mildew, and hail in all the work of your hands; yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says Yahweh.I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith Jehovah.내가 너희 손으로 하는 모든 일을 마름병과 곰팡이병과 우박으로 쳤으나, 너희가 내게로 돌아오지 않았다.' 여호와께서 말씀하신다.
18 ‘ Consider, please, from this day and backward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Yahweh’s temple was laid, consider it.Consider, I pray you, from this day and backward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Jehovah’s temple was laid, consider it.'이제 이 날부터, 곧 아홉째 달 스물넷째 날, 여호와의 성전 기초가 놓인 그 날부터 그 이전을 돌이켜 잘 생각해 보아라. 생각해 보아라.
19 Is the seed yet in the barn? Yes, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree haven’t produced. From today I will bless you.’”Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-tree have not brought forth; from this day will I bless you.아직 곡식이 곳간에 있느냐? 포도나무와 무화과나무와 석류나무와 올리브나무가 아직 열매를 맺지 못하였다. 그러나 이 날부터 내가 너희에게 복을 줄 것이다.'"
20 Yahweh’s word came the second time to Haggai in the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,And the word of Jehovah came the second time unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,그 달 스물넷째 날에, 여호와의 말씀이 두 번째로 학개에게 임하여 이르셨다.
21 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, ‘I will shake the heavens and the earth.Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;"유다 총독 스룹바벨에게 말하여라. '내가 하늘과 땅을 뒤흔들 것이다.
22 I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them. The horses and their riders will come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.내가 왕국들의 보좌를 뒤엎고, 민족들의 나라들의 힘을 멸할 것이다. 내가 병거와 거기에 탄 자들을 뒤엎으리니, 말들과 그 탄 자들이 각각 자기 형제의 칼에 쓰러질 것이다.
23 In that day, says Yahweh of Armies, I will take you, Zerubbabel my servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says Yahweh, ‘ and will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith Jehovah, and will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith Jehovah of hosts.그 날에, 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다. 스알디엘의 아들 내 종 스룹바벨아, 내가 너를 데려다가 인장 반지처럼 삼을 것이다. 내가 너를 택하였기 때문이다.' 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하신다."
