1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him, we ask youNow we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him;형제 여러분, 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 다시 오시는 일과 우리가 그분께로 함께 모이는 일에 관하여 여러분에게 부탁합니다.
2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come.to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand;어떤 영이나 말이나 또는 우리가 보낸 것처럼 꾸민 편지로 인해, 주의 날이 이미 이르렀다는 말에 여러분의 마음이 쉽게 흔들리거나 놀라지 마십시오.
3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction.let no man beguile you in any wise: for it will not be, except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,누구도 어떤 방법으로든 여러분을 속이지 못하게 하십시오. 먼저 배교가 일어나고 멸망의 아들 곧 불법의 사람이 나타나기 전에는, 그 날이 오지 않을 것입니다.
4 He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.그는 하나님이라 불리는 모든 것과 사람들이 예배하는 모든 것을 대적하고 그 위로 자기를 높여, 마침내 하나님의 성전에 하나님처럼 앉아 자기 자신을 하나님이라고 내세웁니다.
5 Don’t you remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?내가 아직 여러분과 함께 있을 때에 이런 일들을 말해 준 것을 기억하지 못합니까?
6 Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.그가 자기 때에 나타나도록, 지금 그를 막고 있는 것이 무엇인지 여러분은 알고 있습니다.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way.이미 불법의 비밀이 활동하고 있습니다. 다만 지금 막고 있는 이가 있어, 그가 옮겨지기 전까지는 그렇습니다.
8 Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming;그때에 그 불법한 자가 나타날 것인데, 주께서 그분의 입김으로 그를 죽이시고 그분이 오시는 광채로 그를 멸하실 것입니다.
9 even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,even he, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,그 불법한 자가 오는 것은 사탄의 활동을 따른 것으로, 온갖 능력과 표적과 거짓 기적을 행하며,
10 and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’ t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.멸망하는 자들에게 온갖 불의의 속임수를 부립니다. 이는 그들이 구원받을 수 있는 진리의 사랑을 받아들이지 않았기 때문입니다.
11 Because of this, God sends them a powerful delusion, that they should believe a lie,And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:이 때문에 하나님께서 그들에게 미혹의 역사를 보내셔서 거짓을 믿게 하십니다.
12 that they all might be judged who didn’ t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.이는 진리를 믿지 않고 불의를 기뻐한 모든 사람이 심판을 받게 하시려는 것입니다.
13 But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth,But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:그러나 주께 사랑받는 형제 여러분, 우리는 여러분에 대하여 늘 하나님께 감사해야 마땅합니다. 이는 하나님께서 처음부터 여러분을 택하셔서, 성령의 거룩하게 하심과 진리를 믿음으로 구원에 이르게 하셨기 때문입니다.
14 to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.하나님께서 우리의 복음을 통해 여러분을 부르신 것은, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 영광을 얻게 하시려는 것입니다.
15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word or by letter.So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours.그러므로 형제 여러분, 굳게 서서 우리가 말이나 편지로 여러분에게 가르친 전통을 굳게 지키십시오.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,우리 주 예수 그리스도 그분과, 우리를 사랑하셔서 은혜로 영원한 위로와 좋은 소망을 주신 우리 아버지 하나님께서,
17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.여러분의 마음을 위로하시고 모든 선한 일과 말에 여러분을 굳게 세워 주시기를 바랍니다.
