Simeon, together with Levi, attacked the city of Shechem to revenge the raping of Dinah.

He was put into prison by Joseph to ensure, that Joseph would see Benjamin again. When his brothers came down a second time, this time with Benjamin, Simeon was let out of prison.

Before Jacob died, he prophesied over his sons. Simeon, together with his brother Levi, was cursed for his anger. They killed men in their anger and because of this, they would be scattered.

It is known, that Shaul's mother was a Canaanite. This seems not to be true for the other children.
