Many times, Moses and Aaron confronted the Pharaoh. God performed miracles and sometimes the Pharaoh would allow their people to leave the country. But always his heart became hard again and he did not let them go.

Finally, after the Lord had killed all the firstborn males in the country, the Pharaoh allowed the Israelites to leave the country.

But only a short time later he realized that he had lost his Israelite slaves. So he followed them with his army. At the Red Sea he confronted them. The Israelites escaped through the divided sea and the Egyptians followed them. The Pharaoh together with all the Egyptians with him was buried in the sea by the water.
