Eleazar ♂, was a priest of Israel.

At Mount Sinai, Eleazar was appointed a priest over the people Israel with his father and all his brothers.
He was one of the priests of the Israelites. He served together with Aaron and Ithamar. After his two brothers Nadab and Abihu had been killed for their unauthorised offering, Eleazar and Ithamar were Aaron's only sons.
Eleazar was the chief leader of the Levites at Moses' time. When Aaron died, Eleazar became priest of the Israelites.
Together with Moses he held the second census on the plains of Moab.
Eleazar helped Joshua to allocate the land of the Israelites.
